All Natural, Vegan, Kids Birthday Cake Recipe
Making a healthier, vegan kids birthday cake using organic ingredients is easy and it great for children who are lactose intolerant and sensitive to food additives and preservatives.
A vegan cake cuts out the following animals ingredients – gelatin, shellac, carmine/cochineal, butter, milk, cream and eggs, so therefore is considered a humanely baked cake.

Simple Vegan Plain Birthday Cake Recipe
Ingredients are available from Health Food Stores, Organic Grocery Stores and also even some Supermarkets.
This makes a heavy, dense sponge that can be cut into shapes and won’t collapse.
2 cups of Organic Plain Flour or Organic White Spelt Flour which is a healthier.
3/4 cup of Organic Castor Sugar- you can go down to half a cup if you prefer, which I often do.
1/2 tsp of Sea Salt
1/2 tsp of Bi-carb- make sure aluminum free
1 tsp Baking Powder- make sure aluminum free
1 cup of Filtered Water
2 Tbsp of Organic Virgin Coconut Oil ( if you want you can use a light vegan butter alternative, but this won’t be natural)
2 Tbsp of Rice Bran of Macadamia Oil
1 tsp of Organic Vanilla Essence
1 tsp of freshly squeezed Organic Lemon Juice
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a small square Pyrex Baking Dish by either greasing it down with your vegan butter/coconut oil, or lining with eco-friendly un-bleached baking paper. You could use a silicone cake pan also, as so far silicone seems quite safe, but glass is by far the safest option to bake in.
In a glass or stainless steel bowls combine dry ingredients in one bowl and wet in the other , then combine wet and dry together with a wooden spoon, do not over stir!! Cook in oven for 20-25 mins. Let cool on a cake rack before decorating.
