Two Winged Fruit Natural Ethical Skincare Review
Australian handmade beauty products are one of my favourites to review here on Livingsafe.com.au, as I love supporting fellow Aussie’s creating ethical products. My Two Winged Fruit Skincare review will take you through each product in the range.
I truly love that this company is so committed to being as ecologically sound as possible.
Two Winged Fruit’s range are proud to be 100% natural, certified palm oil free, accredited cruelty free by the non-profit organization Choose Cruelty Free. 5% of their profits goes to Organutan Foundation International, with another 1% of profits donated to Rainforest Rescue. All their packaging is also ecofriendly
Two Winged Fruit work hard to reduce their carbon footprint, by whenever possible scouring locally grown ingredients, including Australian Native ingredients. Many of their ingredients are also certified organic.
All the products in The Two Winged Fruit range are vegan friendly, with the exception of one of their soaps, containing honey.
I now had some serious hard work ahead of me, having to trial all these wonderful, all natural products, and I enjoyed the process immensely.
First on my list was their Lemon Myrtle & Kunzea Deodorant. I really loved the fact that is was housed in an ecofriendly cardboard applicator, rather than the traditional plastic container.
I am always sceptical when it comes to natural deodorants, as some work for a while, then stop working, and others have given me nasty, itchy rashes.
Two Winged Fruit’s natural deodorant was given a thorough workout over a two week period of me attending Power Flow Yoga classes a few times a week, in the peak of a hot Melbourne Summer, and it held up to its end of the bargain. I was able to go a full 24 hours before I next showered and had to reapply. Very impressive indeed, and I just love the fresh Lemon Myrtle fragrance!
Next, I trialled the Two Winged Fruit Nerolina and Hemp Shampoo and Hair Balm. This was an interesting result. While shampooing my very long, curly hair, I couldn’t really smell any scent at all, although I could feel that my hair was squeaky clean. It wasn’t until I began towel drying my hair, that the fragrance of the natural essential oils of Nerolina, Grapefruit, Rosemary, Cardamom and Australian Sandalwood came through.
The Nerolina and Hemp Balm, is used in place of conditioner. You apply a tiny amount to towel dried hair and massage it through. You have to be careful not to overload your hair, as it will end of looking a little greasy.
Personally, I would love to see Two Winged Fruit create a wash out cream conditioner and a heavier leave in conditioner, as their hair balm was not enough of a leave-in-conditioner for my thick, long, curly hair. I would personally recommend using the hair balm as more of an intensive oil treatment, for dry damaged hair.
I am a big fan of the Two Winged Fruit Liquid Soap products. I absolutely loved using the Lemongrass & Eucalyptus Liquid foaming hand soap. I keep it right near the kitchen sink and use it to wash my hands before cooking, safe in the knowledge it is all natural and doesn’t matter if I don’t rinse it off properly before handling food.
Two Winged Fruit’s Bush Mint & Rose Geranium Body Wash is a fantastic product full of skin tingling essential oils. I love the smell of the Australian Bush Mint, combined with not only the Rose Geranium essential oil, but also essential oils of Peppermint, Mandarin, Lavender and Cardamom. The kids and I have been using it in the shower and it cleans off all the natural zinc sunscreens we have been wearing during the summer months. A little goes a long way and you don’t waste any product due to it being a foam dispenser.
After the shower I have been applying Two Winged Fruit’s super light, nongreasy, all natural Aloe Vera & Macadamia Hand & Body Lotion. This lotion absorbed into my skin lightning fast, and left my skin feeling well hydrated and super soft. Plus it is very soothing on mosquito bites as well thanks to the pure Aloe Vera.
The last product I trialled wasThe Two Winged Fruit Australian Sandalwood & Mandarin Lip Balm and it works brilliantly at soothing and moisturizing dried out lips. It contains a blend of Coconut & Avocado oils, with Candelilla Wax and essential oils.
I have yet to try the soap bars, but they smell incredible and come in 3 all natural varieties, Spearmint & Citrus, Lavender & Tea Tree and Honey & Oats, this is the non vegan product in the range).
So all in all I can highly recommend Two Winged Fruit products.
