Earth Greetings are dedicated to producing beautiful, Australian made and sustainable greeting cards, stationery and paper goods.
Earth Greetings began in 2003 when designer Heide Hackworth saw a gap in the market for earth-friendly alternative greeting cards. “Back then there were very few 100% recycled greeting cards available, and I wanted my business to consider the environment in every aspect.” She then set about researching the printing industry and discovered there were many areas of improvement to be made in order to design paper products sustainably.
All Earth Greetings cards are printed carbon neutral in Australia, with vegetable based ink on 100% post-consumer recycled paper. As a passionate vegan, Heide ensures none of the glues used on the envelopes or journals are made from animal products.
“As environmental awareness has become more popular, the range has now become a great success in many mainstream retail outlets, and is stocked in around 500 retail stores throughout Australia and overseas.” Heide says.
Another aspect to Earth Greetings is the bold, colourful and quirky designs, inspired by Australian native plants and animals, making their cards collectible tiny artworks in themselves.
Since then, the Earth Greetings range has expanded to include a children’s range (My Earth) and stationery including diaries, calendars and journals, bamboo pens, pencils and twine.
Earth Greetings are a carbon neutral business. They first reduce their greenhouse gas emissions where possible by purchasing carbon neutral supplies and 100% Greenpower energy. They then have their emissions audited annually and purchase offsets which absorb greenhouse gas in order to have the lowest environmental impact possible.
