You can use either coarser sea salt, or finer table salt. Mix salt with some olive oil and a drop or two of your favourite essential oil (if pregnant or breastfeeding always check if oils are safe to use), for an invigorating and skin polishing scrub.

For mild viral conjunctivitis and minor eye irritations, a lukewarm salt bath for the eye can do wonders. Important: be sure to only add a small amount, just a pinch, to a bowl or glass of lukewarm boiled water, so as not to sting.

To get rid of garlic and onion odour on your hands when cooking, use salt mixed with vinegar and rub over hands, then rinse clean.
