Raw, Vegan, Chocolate Nut Slice – FODMAP Friendly
Seriously, this raw chocolate slice is super delicious and not only that, it is vegan, healthy, low FODMAP, gluten free and refined sugar free. It is also low in Fructose as it uses coconut sugar instead of honey or agave.
This really defines a “good for you” chocolate treat, as it is full of protein and good fats, due to its blend of chia seeds, raw pecans, raw macadamia nuts and raw coconut oil. I can also happily tell you that is it incredible easy to make!
Organic Raw Choc Slice Ingredients
1 cup of pecans
3/4 cup of macadamia nuts
1/2 cup of raw cacao powder
1/2 cup of dessicated coconut – optional if you are highly FODMAP sensitive
3/4 of chia seeds
1/4 of coconut sugar
1/4 tsp of pink salt
3 heaped tsp of melted raw coconut oil
1 tbsp of Pure Harvest Rice Bran Syrup
1/2 tsp of cinnamon
How To Make Your Raw Choc Slice
In a stainless steel or glass bowl, mix thoroughly all the dry ingredients till well combined.
In another stainless steel or glass bowl, add your coconut oil and now sit this bowl in another bigger bowl of kettle hot water until the coconut oil melts to a liquid. Be careful not get water mixed into your coconut oil.
Once the coconut oil, is melted add to it, the coconut syrup by hand whisking it briskly into the coconut oil and then straight away before the two separate, add the liquid to the dry ingredients and stir well with a wooden spoon.
Now finish by hand kneading the mixture to combine it even more thoroughly and then press it down firmly into a glass, Pyrex shallow square or rectangular dish, which has been lined with eco-friendly, unbleached baking paper.
Refrigerate for at least a couple hours to allow the mixture to set and then take it out of the fridge and cut into slices.
Store the slices in a safe polypropylene plastic Tupperware container. They will keep for a few days only in the fridge, but don’t worry as they are so delicious that they really won’t last that long!
